Super Router Jigs
First try to combine a new jig, new tool and router bit…..
In continuing the construction of the small tea cabinet, the shelves needs to be tied in to the side with the use of the trough tenons that traverse the sides of the small cabinet.
In between these small tenons, the wood needs to go and the shoulder must be straight and be pretty much perfect to sit just accross the side that it meats.
Through the different issues of Fine Woodworking they publish the following article to remove the waste in between the dovetail pins. I was pretty much convinced that it would do well in between fingers or in between through tenons as long as the router bit could fit in between. So I constructed the jig based on the plans.
I also informed myself of the router bit being used…. It had to be small enough and be guided with a bearing. The router bit is a Whiteside 3000 which fits all of the criteria.
SO the plan is to remove most of the waste in between the fingers/tenons/tails through your preferred way and then come back with the router to remove the rest of the wood up to the base line.
So far so good for the use of all 3 of the tools….
